The intention of ECLF is to strengthen, support and augment the efforts of its mother bodies, namely ZCC, EFZ, ZCBC and UDACIZA and not in any way to compete with them. The church leaders wanted a platform that would help them to influence the thinking and action programmes of their umbrella bodies from within so that they act together and speak with one voice on issues of national concern so as to realize God’s mission in Christ: “I came so that you may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10).
